Silhouette House: A Bold Fusion of Raw Concrete and Modern Elegance

Industrial Sophistication Meets Futuristic Living

Our clients envisioned a home that balanced raw, honest materials with sleek modernity—a space where texture and innovation coexist. The result is Silhouette House, a striking two-story residence with an attic that redefines contemporary architecture through its bold use of off-form concrete and refined industrial detailing.

Architectural Features & Material Innovation

The façade of Silhouette House makes a powerful statement with its exposed off-form concrete on the first floor, celebrating the material’s natural imperfections and rugged beauty. This design choice not only adds depth and character but also ensures durability and a timeless aesthetic. The upper floor transitions into a sleek modern composition, softened by a custom metal privacy screen that filters light while maintaining seclusion.

A key challenge was integrating the raw concrete structurally and aesthetically, ensuring it harmonized with the home’s contemporary elements. The metal screening, precision-engineered for both function and style, enhances privacy without sacrificing airflow or natural light.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

The ground floor embraces an open-plan layout, where the living, dining, and dry kitchen areas flow effortlessly together, creating a dynamic space for daily life and entertaining. The wet kitchen, designed for practicality, is discreetly positioned yet fully equipped for heavy use. A dedicated domestic helper’s space ensures functionality without compromising the home’s elegant design.

Upstairs, three bedrooms provide comfort and privacy. The master suite features a walk-in robe and a luxurious ensuite, while the two additional bedrooms share a well-appointed bathroom. The attic level transforms into a private retreat, with a guest room, lounge area, and a bathroom, all opening onto an outdoor terrace—perfect for relaxation or hosting visitors.

Thoughtful Layout & Elevated Design

  • Ground Floor: Expansive open-plan living, dining, and dry kitchen, alongside a functional wet kitchen, helper’s quarters, and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity.

  • Upper Floor: Master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe, two additional bedrooms sharing a bathroom, and a sleek metal privacy screen enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.

  • Attic: A versatile guest suite with a lounge and terrace access, offering a secluded escape with panoramic views.

Refined Finishes & Smart Living

The interiors balance raw textures with modern sophistication. Polished concrete floors on the ground level complement warm timber accents, while the upper floors feature engineered oak for a softer contrast. Bathrooms are designed with minimalist precision, combining matte black fixtures with neutral stone surfaces for a timeless appeal.

Large windows and strategic openings maximize natural light and cross-ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial cooling. Smart home features, including automated lighting and climate control, enhance comfort and efficiency.

Silhouette House is a testament to bold architectural experimentation—where raw concrete meets refined living, and industrial elements blend seamlessly with modern luxury. This project exemplifies how material honesty and innovative design can create a home that is both striking and deeply livable.
